Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen had a lot to be thankful for Thursday.

Ahead of the Vikings' 30-23 victory over the Detroit Lions, Griffen and his wife, Tiffany, welcomed their third child, a boy. Griffen couldn't be there in person for the birth of his son, who joins brothers Greyson and Ellis, but he was able to watch it on FaceTime.

"Seven pounds, 2 ounces, born right before the game, so I was doing my warmup watching the birth on FaceTime," he told ESPN's Courtney Cronin. "So wife is healthy, baby is healthy, we don't know his name yet, but it's not about that. I'm happy to have a new addition - three boys."

Griffen hopes fans will help choose a name for the baby. After sacking Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, he lifted up his jersey to reveal the message "I just had a baby boy. What should we name him?" written on his undershirt.

"I was thinking about doing something, and I just thought of that," Griffen said. "You know, 'This will be funny.'

"I'm going to check (social media), but I called my wife first and foremost to make sure the baby is doing good and everything is good. She's good, the baby's good, so we're all excited."
