Report: Browns tried to trade for Pryor, Redskins unwilling to move him

Denny Medley / USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns attempted to trade for Terrelle Pryor before last week's deadline, but the Washington Redskins weren't interested in dealing the struggling wide receiver, league sources told Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com.

Cleveland allowed Pryor to hit free agency this past offseason after the first 1,000-yard campaign of his career. He subsequently signed a one-year, $6-million contract with Washington, but has failed to live up to expectations.

Pryor is on pace to catch just 40 receptions for 480 yards and two touchdowns, and was benched in the first half of Week 9's game, playing just one snap.

Meanwhile, the Browns' replacement for Pryor, Kenny Britt, has been a non-factor, and the entire receiving corps has been largely ineffective.
