Arizona Cardinals quarterback Drew Stanton suffered a sprained knee in Thursday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks and could be sidelined for one or two games, sources told Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Blaine Gabbert would get the starting nod if Stanton is sidelined, added Mortensen.

The Cardinals have already lost starter Carson Palmer, who is on injured reserve with a broken arm - though he could still return late in the season.

Arizona intend to sign Matt Barkley - who played for the team in 2015 - to provide additional depth, added Mortensen.
