Browns' Jackson: 'If you turn the ball over, you're not going to play'

The quarterback carousel spun again Sunday, and Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson suggested after more struggles Sunday that it could keep going for a while.

"If you turn the ball over, you're not going to play," Jackson told reporters after losing 12-9 in overtime to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, according to May Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

After gluing him to the bench last week in favor of Kevin Hogan, who threw three interceptions to the Houston Texans, the Browns went back to rookie DeShone Kizer as their starting quarterback against the Titans.

Kizer, though, lasted just a half plus a series in the third quarter before he was yanked, with second-year pivot Cody Kessler coming in to replace him. Kessler threw a pick of his own, and failed to muster much offense the rest of the game.

"DeShone was playing really well up until we turned the ball over in the scoring zone," Jackson said. "I left DeShone in the game and here we come second half, we turn the ball over again.

"I'm looking at this game, this is a close game. If we can manage and get the ball down the field, we got a chance to win. I owe it to the other guys in the room. I'm not just worried about the quarterback. I know you guys (reporters) are, but I'm not."

Jackson added he isn't sure who'll start at quarterback next week, when the winless Browns square off with the Minnesota Vikings in London.
