Former Washington Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan testified in court earlier this month in a grievance case he filed against the team for firing him in March while opting not to pay him the balance of his contract, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports.

The Redskins reportedly cited McCloughan's ongoing issues with alcohol as a reason for just cause for the firing.

"He's had multiple relapses due to alcohol," a team official told the Washington Post in March. "He showed up in the locker room drunk on multiple occasions. ... This has been a disaster for 18 months."
