Seattle Seahawks defensive end Cliff Avril plans to return from injury this season despite reports that he is considering retirement, the veteran told Greg Bishop of Sports Illustrated.

Avril is getting numerous medical opinions for his neck injury and has been placed on injured reserve, though he plans to return.

"You might see me at the end of this year," Avril told Bishop.

Avril, a Pro Bowler in 2016, had two tackles and one sack through four games before suffering a neck injury against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4.
