Bucs' Winston says he's 'ready' to face Bills, but status unclear

Jameis Winston's status for Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills remains unclear, but it certainly sounds like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback is intent on playing.

Winston reportedly suffered an AC joint sprain to his shoulder last weekend against the Arizona Cardinals that knocked him out of the game.

"My thought process is to play," Winston said Thursday, according to Andrew Siciliano of NFL Network.

The 23-year-old was replaced by Ryan Fitzpatrick, but reportedly could have returned to the game in an emergency situation. Winston indicated he would be ready to suit up against the Bills, although it's a team decision.

"I’m ready," Winston said, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. "When it’s time to let me go, I’m ready."

Winston participated in practice Wednesday, but did not throw. Buccaneers offensive coordinator Tood Monken indicated he's expected to throw Thursday.
