Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders will undergo an MRI on his ankle Monday after leaving Sunday's game against the New York Giants during the third quarter with an ankle injury.

Sanders was carted to the locker room. X-rays were negative, head coach Vance Joseph revealed postgame, according to the Denver Post's Nicki Jhabvala.

The veteran wide receiver left the field with the assistance of trainers - putting no weight on his right leg - and was placed on a cart shortly thereafter.

Prior to leaving the game, Sanders caught five passes for 76 yards.

It would be a harrowing loss for the Broncos' offense if Sanders misses any time, with A.J. Derby and Bennie Fowler likely in line for more targets.
