Adrian Peterson: 'This is the opportunity I’ve been waiting for'

Adrian Peterson proved his tank isn't empty yet, at least for one game.

The Arizona Cardinals' new running back went off for 134 yards and two touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, eclipsing the 100-yard mark for the first time since 2015.

"I feel good," Peterson said afterward, according to FOX Sports Arizona. "This is the opportunity I’ve been waiting for ... When I got that call I was rejuvenated."

The 32-year-old, who was traded to Arizona from the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday, certainly looked rejuvenated against the Bucs. With his effort Sunday afternoon, Peterson surpassed his combined rushing yardage total from his four games with the Saints.

Arizona came into the game averaging a league-worst 2.6 yards per carry, so Peterson's effort was a massive improvement. He thinks the best is yet to come, though.

"I feel like the sky is the limit for us," Peterson added, according to Bo Brack of Fox Sports 910.
