Report: Winston injury not serious; could've returned vs. Cardinals

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston's shoulder injury does not appear to be as serious as some might have speculated after he left Sunday's 38-33 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

X-rays came back negative on Winston's shoulder, and he'll undergo an MRI on Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Winston could have returned to the game if needed for an emergency situation, but was held out to avoid further damage, according to Roy Cummings of WFLA News Channel 8.

The quarterback also said he was confident that he wouldn't miss any time.

"I don't think I've (ever) missed a game. I don't think I'm going to miss a game, either," Winston said, according to Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times.

The third-year pro left the game in the second quarter and was ruled doubtful to return, though he was seen throwing passes on the sideline. Winston completed 5 of 10 passes for 61 yards before being replaced by Ryan Fitzpatrick.
