Peterson explodes for best game since 2015 in Cardinals debut

Matt Kartozian / USA TODAY Sports

Adrian Peterson said he had plenty left in the tank, and it sure looked like it in the future Hall of Fame running back's debut with the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

The 32-year-old rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, leading the Cards to a 38-33 victory in the desert.

Prior to Sunday's affair, Peterson hadn't reached the century mark since Week 16 of the 2015 season, when he also ran for 134 yards on the Detroit Lions. He hadn't enjoyed a trip to the end zone since Week 15 of the 2015 season, when he scored twice against the Chargers, then of San Diego.

It took Peterson less than one half Sunday to match, and then top, his production from his entire four-game tenure with the New Orleans Saints.
