Gatorade: Newton's comments were 'disrespectful to all women'

Gatorade issued a statement Thursday after Cam Newton's response to a female reporter, saying the Carolina Panthers quarterback's comments were "disrespectful to all women."

Yogurt company Dannon also released a statement Thursday, noting they will no longer be working with Newton. The 28-year-old hasn't responded publicly to the backlash over his remarks, but Panthers head coach Ron Rivera conceded Newton made a mistake.

Newton said it was "funny to hear a female talk about routes" after he was asked a question during a press conference.

Joe Thomas pushes for own holiday in Cleveland
I’d like to lobby @CityofCleveland to make 7/3 an official holiday where the city government is closed, banks are closed, mandatory day off for all workers. It only make sense to roll into America’s birthday with a little pre-game holiday for all on the 3rd. Retweet if you agree
Gronk angling to play for the '69ers'
I think Rob Gronkowski just crashed my bachelor party in disguise. Not sure if he's going to retire, but said he could be playing for the "69ers" next season. I love my job. I love Gronk. #Patriots
