Trump says NFL beef isn't distracting him from other issues

President Donald Trump continued on the offensive against the NFL on Tuesday, asking owners to implement a rule that would ban kneeling during the national anthem.

Although Trump made a point of calling out the NFL and those who protest the national anthem for the past few days, he insists the league wasn't stealing his attention from other key issues this weekend.

"I wasn't preoccupied with the NFL," Trump said Tuesday during his press conference at the White House. "I was ashamed at what was taking place. I don't think you can disrespect our country, our flag, our national anthem."

"I have plenty of time on my hands. All I do is work. It doesn’t take me long to put out a wrong."

Trump also went on another patented Twitter rant earlier Tuesday morning.
