Browns send Corey Coleman to IR with broken hand

Charles LeClaire / USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns have placed wide receiver Corey Coleman on injured reserve with a broken hand, the team announced Tuesday.

If Cleveland opts to use one of its two return designations on him, the former first-round pick can return to practice in six weeks and can play again in eight weeks.

Coleman suffered the same injury last season and missed six games of his rookie year.

The Browns are now dangerously thin at wide receiver, especially with big-money free-agent signing Kenny Britt catching just two passes over the first two games of the season.
