Everyone has an opinion on the recent protests of racial injustice by NFL players during the national anthem.

While some coaches, general managers, and owners have expressed their support to such demonstrations, others have cautioned against them.

The latest to lend their voice to the topic is Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson who was asked on Wednesday whether he would support one of his players sitting during the playing of "The Star-Spangled Banner."

"I view this as something you're asking me from a personal standpoint," Thompson said to Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. "Not what I would do, but what I would feel about a particular player if he made such and such action, or if he failed to make such and such action - This is a free country in my opinion, and free people can do what they like."

The Packers signed tight end Martellus Bennett this offseason, whose brother, Michael, sat during the playing of the national anthem during the first week of preseason.
