Report: Beckham could miss Week 1 vs. Cowboys with ankle injury

Jerry Lai / USA TODAY Sports

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. could miss Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys due to an ankle sprain suffered during Monday's preseason loss to the Cleveland Browns, according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan and Dan Graziano.

Beckham underwent an MRI on Tuesday that confirmed a sprained ankle.

The Giants' superstar suffered the injury after incurring a low hit from Browns safety Briean Boddy-Calhoun and left the field visibly upset.

Giants head coach Ben McAdoo didn't provide an exact timeline on Beckham's recovery, stating that it'll depend on how well he responds to treatment.

Beckham is one of the NFL's greatest talents, and so any missed time would be a significant loss for the Giants, who are searching for a second consecutive playoff appearance.
