Report: Eagles' Matthews still battling knee tendinitis

Mark L. Baer / USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia Eagles receiver Jordan Matthews missed much of minicamp with tendinitis in his left knee and it could be hampering him at the outset of training camp.

Entering his fourth year, Matthews is still battling the injury, Zach Berman of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson spoke to reporters Monday morning and stated Matthews will be limited to begin camp, according to Berman, but declined to give a full diagnosis. He did, however, state that "as of now" there is no reason to believe he'll miss any preseason or regular-season games, according to Geoff Mosher of The Fanatic 97.5.

Matthews caught 73 passes for 804 yards and three touchdowns last season. The Eagles added to the receiving corps this offseason by bringing aboard Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith.
