A group of current and former NFL players has made a large investment in a startup founded by 12-year-old entrepreneur Mikaila Ulmer, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The company is called Me & The Bees Lemonade and its preteen founder Ulmer has appeared on "Shark Tank." The product? Ulmer's great-grandmother's wildflower honey and flaxseed lemonade, which is now sold in stores like Whole Foods.

The company, and its mission to save the bees, caught the attention of former Houston Texans running back Arian Foster, who spends some of his time these days making investments.

Foster, Texans offensive tackle Duane Brown, former Texans running back Jonathan Grimes, Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner, Detroit Lions safety Glover Quin, Lions cornerback Darius Slay, and other NFL players have combined to invest a total of $810,000.

"It's awesome that I get to work with and around these two," Ulmer said of Foster and Quin. "They're very smart. I learned a lot from them in the past couple of hours. I'm very happy that I'm able to work with them and they invested in my company and them helping us and mentoring us and believing in our mission. I think we have a better chance of achieving our goals. That keeps me pumped and excited every day."
