Decker: I 'learned so much' about football from Peyton Manning

If his country-singing wife hasn't endeared Eric Decker to his new fan base enough, praising one of Tennessee's favorite sons should do the trick.

After officially signing with the Tennessee Titans on Monday, Decker credited former teammate and Tennessee Volunteers great Peyton Manning with helping him become a three-time 1,000-yard receiver.

"Playing with one of the best in the game, Peyton Manning, I've learned so much about the game - not only the receiver position, but how to read defenses, how to do things the right way on and off the field," Decker said in a video interview with his team's website, according to USA TODAY's Jason Wolf. "So hopefully I can bring that to the table."

Decker played two seasons with Manning when they were members of the Denver Broncos, producing the two best statistical years of his career. The 30-year-old receiver says he learned how to put the team first and "do whatever you've got to do to help the team" from Manning and the Broncos.

"When I was in Denver, I saw what the culture was like to get to a Super Bowl, and it took, it was kind of unselfishness, everyone doing what their role was, not wanting to be the 'me guy' but be the 'team guy,'" said Decker.
