O.J. Simpson's parole hearing is set for July 20, and the former NFL star could be released from a Nevada prison Oct. 1 after nearly a decade behind bars, a state parole official told The Associated Press.
The 69-year-old was handed a 33-year sentence for charges including kidnapping and armed robbery of two memorabilia dealers in September 2007.
Simpson will appear via video conference before a four-person panel in Carson City, parole official David Smith said.
The former Buffalo Bills running back was denied parole in 2013 and 2014.
"If he's able to get parole, my prediction is he's going to want to live a quiet life," Simpson's attorney in Las Vegas, Malcolm LaVergne, said in a recent interview.
Simpson was famously acquitted of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman in the 1990s.
