The Oakland Raiders signed guard Gabe Jackson to a five-year extension worth a reported $56 million.

Jackson was previously under contract through the end of the 2017 season.

The 25-year-old made 44 starts through three seasons and hasn't missed a game over the past two years.

Jackson graded out as the 22nd-best guard in the NFL last season, according to Pro Football Focus. Through three seasons, Jackson has been a stalwart pass-blocker, and quarterback Derek Carr couldn't hold back his excitement upon news of the extension.

After signing Carr to his own five-year extension June 22, making him the highest-paid player in the NFL, the Raiders have retained the key pillars of their young core as they look to dethrone the New England Patriots in the AFC.
