A meeting between Colin Kaepernick and the Seattle Seahawks appears to have left at least one side willing to strike a deal.
Wednesday's free-agent visit went "very well" and the veteran quarterback wants to join the Seahawks, Jordan Schultz of The Huffington Post reports, citing a source.
Landing in Seattle would limit Kaepernick to a clear-cut backup job, a role many assumed he'd be hesitant to accept after previously enjoying success as a starter.
However, Kaepernick said he'd be content to step into the No. 2 spot behind Russell Wilson, Schultz reports.
The meeting with Seattle was Kaepernick's first since opting out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers and becoming a free agent in early March. The visit did not include a workout, a report from Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk clarified Thursday.
Finding a reliable backup for Wilson is one of the few glaring needs on the Seahawks' roster heading into the summer.
Kaepernick was a bright spot for an otherwise awful 49ers offense last season, completing 59.2 percent of his passes for 2,241 yards, 16 touchdowns, and four interceptions across 11 starts.
