Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott: Suffers head injury

Elliott (head) missed a second consecutive OTA on Wednesday after he was a passenger in a car accident over the weekend, David Moore of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Analysis:

Elliott apparently hit his head in the "minor" incident, according to Rob Phillips of DallasCowboys.com. As a result, the team will hold Elliott out of practice for the time being, but he'll still get in some work on the side, per Moore. Even if there isn't technically a concussion protocol in the offseason, Elliott will be treated with the utmost caution as one of the cornerstones of the Cowboys' offense. In the interim, Darren McFadden, Alfred Morris and Jahad Thomas will handle most of the available reps at running back.
