The Seattle Seahawks' interest in Colin Kaepernick appears to be serious, as the team is expected to work out the free-agent quarterback Wednesday, reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport

Head coach Pete Carroll recently confirmed Seattle's interest in Kaepernick, but added that the team is considering a number of veteran passers.

''We're looking at everybody. We really are,'' Carroll told reporters last week. ''We've been tracking everything that is going on and we've got cap and roster issues and stuff like that that we're trying to make sure we manage properly but quite frankly, yes, we're looking at all those guys.''

Despite engaging in several intense NFC West battles with Kaepernick over the years, several Seahawks spoke out in support of the quarterback's national anthem protests during the 2016 season. At one point, the entire Seahawks team linked arms during the anthem.

"A person that's dedicating their life to creating change - why wouldn't you want that type of leadership in your locker room?" Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett said recently.
