Report: Aguayo is still missing a lot of kicks at Bucs' practice

Jeremy Brevard / USA TODAY Sports

Remember when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded up into the second round of the 2016 draft to select a kicker and then that kicker missed a bunch a kicks?

Well, he's still missing kicks.

In a kicking session at the Buccaneers' first OTA session on Tuesday, Roberto Aguayo missed at least three of the four kicks he attempted and left much of his team in relative shock, according to JoeBucsFan.com.

On his first attempt, Aguayo apparently hit the right goal post from 30 yards out, and after missing the next two as well, players and coaches went silent while watching the kicker's attempts during a break from an 11-on-11 drill.

Veteran kicker Nick Folk, who was brought in to compete with Aguayo in his second season, then knocked in all four of his attempts.

Aguayo had claimed to be motivated by the impending kicking competition with Folk, but it appears motivation isn't what he needs. The former Florida State kicker made 22 of 31 kicks as a rookie and struggled mightily in practices.

And don't forget, the Buccaneers traded their third- and fourth-round picks to move up and select Aguayo - a kicker - in the second round. It's important that a move as absurd as that is not forgotten quickly.
