Romo to kick off broadcasting career this weekend

Those who miss the sound of Tony Romo's voice won't have to wait until the preseason to hear him again.

The retired Dallas Cowboys quarterback will make his debut as a CBS sports broadcaster this weekend at the 18th hole of the Dean & Deluca Invitational, a PGA Tour event.

"This weekend for the first time ever he will be in the announce booth at 18 for a few moments," CBS Sports producer Lance Barrow said at the Colonial Country Club, site of the invitational, according to Kevin Patra of NFL.com.

"It will be the first time that he will have the CBS Sports blazer on and he will be introduced as our newest addition to CBS Sports, right here at Colonial."

The news was meant to be an exclusive for those in attendance, but it inevitably got out onto social media.

Romo has long displayed an affinity for the game of golf. There's no doubt CBS' golf coverage played a strong role in landing the coveted analyst.
