Jaguars move up 1 spot to select Cam Robinson
Jason Getz / USA TODAY Sports
The Jacksonville Jaguars traded up one spot to select offensive tackle Cam Robinson out of Alabama with the 34th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Jacksonville acquired the No. 34 selection, sending the No. 35 and No. 187 picks to the Seattle Seahawks.
Robinson was considered by some to the best offensive tackle in this year's class and should be an immediate contributor among the Jaguars' offensive line.
Jacksonville selected Leonard Fournette with its first-round pick and appear to be revamping its offense early in this year's event.
Cam Robinson Bio
Position: OT
School: Alabama
College Experience: Junior
Height: 6-6
Weight: 322 lbs
Strengths
- Size and athleticism make him a fit at either tackle or guard position along the offensive front.
- Aggressive, powerful blocker who demonstrates strength in the run game and has the ability to anchor against pass-rushers.
- Showed potential for dominance through his performances in one-on-one matchups against presumed No. 1 overall pick Myles Garrett.
Weaknesses
- Will rely on NFL coaching to refine his technique - most notably in addressing a tendency to lunge into blocks - and make the most of his physical abilities.
- Off-field history is a concern after he was arrested along with a teammate in 2016. Drug and weapons charges were later dropped.
