The full schedule for the 2017 NFL regular season will be released Thursday night, but one high-profile game has already come to light.

The Washington Redskins will host a Thanksgiving Day game for the first time in franchise history when they welcome the New York Giants for the nightcap of a holiday tripleheader on Nov. 23, Master Tesfatsion of The Washington Post reports.

Traditionally, the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys are the annual hosts of Thanksgiving Day contests. A third game was added to the holiday in 2006.

Last year, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts closed the Thanksgiving festivities.
