The Buffalo Bills have selected quarterback Nathan Peterman out of Pitt in the fifth round (171st overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.
The Bills sorted out their issues with starter Tyrod Taylor this offseason, signing him to a new deal. However, his long-term future with the team remains in doubt.
Peterman was expected to be a mid-round pick, so the Bills got good value by snagging him in the fifth.
The former Pitt standout needs to prove he has an NFL-caliber arm, but should be able to battle with Cardale Jones for the backup QB job.
