Vikings select outside linebacker Elijah Lee in 7th round

The Minnesota Vikings have selected outside linebacker Elijah Lee out of Kansas State in the seventh round (232nd overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Strengths

• Lee displays good closing speed and can run with wide receivers and tight ends downfield.
• Displays good straight-line speed and takes smart routes to track down the ball carrier.
• Shows off decent sideline-to-sideline speed.
• Recorded five interceptions over the course of his career and possesses NFL-level athleticism.

Weaknesses

• Lee plays without a sense of urgency and often waits for the game to come to him.
• Recorded 1.5 sacks during his junior season.
• Lee does a terrible job of disengaging from offensive linemen and gets taken out of the play far too easily.
