Detroit Lions running back Theo Riddick underwent surgery on both wrists during the 2016 campaign, which was the reason he was placed on season-ending injured reserve, sources told Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.

Riddick missed the last month of the season due to wrist injuries, but it was never confirmed that he had surgery. And while the runner was seen with a cast on his left arm after the season, he refused to comment on the injury.

The 25-year-old's expected to recover in time for OTAs, but with fellow running back Ameer Abdullah also working back from injury, the Lions might look to add another body to their backfield.
