Former Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan has signed a multi-year contract with ESPN to be a member of the "Sunday NFL Countdown" cast, reports Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

Ryan was previously a guest analyst on the show during Super Bowl Sunday.

The 54-year-old head coach was fired by the Bills late last season after putting up a 15-16 record since joining the team in 2015. He reportedly did not receive interest to fill any of the vacant head coach positions around the league this offseason.

Ryan also served as head coach of the New York Jets from 2009 to 2014, posting a 46-50 record with the team and reaching two AFC Championship games.

It is not yet known if Ryan will replace any of the 2016 cast or be added as an extra member to the panel.
