Even when the New England Patriots gain a measure of momentum in Super Bowl LI, things still end up going awry.

Tom Brady found James White for a 5-yard touchdown late in the third quarter, cutting the deficit. However, on the ensuing extra point, Stephen Gostkowski missed a short attempt, and the Falcons retained a 28-9 lead.

It was the first missed extra point in a Super Bowl since Mike Cofer's attempt went wide right in Super Bowl XXIV.
