The Cleveland Browns are close to finalizing a new deal with linebacker Jamie Collins, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.
Collins was traded to the Browns from the New England Patriots for a conditional third-round draft pick on October 31.
The 27-year-old is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this spring.
Collins recorded 112 tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles, and two interceptions in 15 games, split between the Browns and Patriots in 2016.
During his tenure with the Patriots, Collins helped the team capture Super Bowl XLIX in 2014. Collins was also named to the Pro Bowl and earned second-team All-Pro honors in 2015.
