Signing one of the NFL's richest contracts of 2016 carries certain expectations, and New York Giants defensive end Olivier Vernon is living up to all of them.

Vernon, who leads the Giants with 8.5 sacks this season, splurged on Christmas gifts for teammates, coaches, and team staff, spending over $150,000 combined on personalized bottles of Louis XIII Cognac, multiple sources told Dan Duggan of NJ.com.

Vernon purchased the bottles - costing roughly $1,500 each - for approximately 75 players and 20 coaches, along with other members of the organization, and had each engraved with the recipient's name.

He signed a five-year, $85-million contract with the Giants last spring and currently leads the NFL in tackles for loss with 17.
