Buccaneers' Josh Huff: Promoted to Bucs' 53-man roster
The Buccaneers promoted Huff from the practice squad Tuesday, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis:
Huff was used sparingly in two-plus seasons with the Eagles, racking up 48 catches (on 75 targets) for 482 yards and four touchdowns through Week 8 of this season. However, his arrest on Nov. 1 for speeding, DUI, drug possession, and possessing a firearm without a permit was the last straw, as he was released two days later. After spending a month on the Bucs' practice squad, his services were required after Cecil Shorts suffered a devastating knee injury Sunday at San Diego. With fellow wideout Adam Humphries in the concussion protocol, Huff could have a regular role right off the bat behind Mike Evans, Russell Shepard, and Freddie Martino.
