As expected, NFL fines Jackson for caution tape cleats
DeSean Jackson knew he'd be getting docked a few dollars when he made a statement with his cleats Sunday, and that's exactly what happened.
The Washington Redskins receiver was fined $6,076 by the league for wearing the cleats he originally planned to sport just in warmups before facing the Cleveland Browns in Week 4. Jackson called an audible before kickoff and kept the cleats on to play through the game.
"It's cool, man," Jackson said of the fine, according to ESPN's John Keim. "My message and what I wanted to get across was more of the case for that, so I wasn't worried about that (fine)."

Jackson, who donned the league-approved pink cleats in Week 5, said the cleats are just part of his protest against the treatment of minorities by police. The 29-year-old deep threat plans to hold seminars and after-school programs following this season.
