Bills' Shaq Lawson: Should make his debut this season

Bills GM Doug Whaley said Tuesday that Lawson (shoulder) should be able to start practicing when eligible Oct. 18, BuffaloBills.com reports. "He's on schedule," said Whaley. "We just had a meeting yesterday so after the six weeks if there are no setbacks he'll be able to start practicing and we'll see where it goes after that. But everything we've heard from the medical staff is that he's ready and raring to go."

Analysis:

While second-round pick Reggie Raglund is definitely out for the season, the Bills seem convinced that Lawson, their first-rounder, will be part of the plan at some point. If he can make any kind of splash, the Bills might not have that bad of a defense after all. They've played strong in two of three games around a disaster against the Jets, while Marcell Dareus and Lawson haven't even set foot on the field yet.
