Buccaneers' Gerald McCoy: Has key pass deflection in Week 1 win
McCoy tallied three tackles (all solo), including two for loss, a sack and two passes defensed in Sunday's 31-24 victory over the Falcons.
Analysis:
The All-Pro tackle came up big when it counted most, notching the second of his two deflections on the day on Matt Ryan's last-gasp, fourth-down pass attempt with 1:18 remaining in the game. McCoy was effective throughout the game as well, dropping the Falcons' signal-caller for a six-yard loss on Atlanta's first possession of the second half. While his tackle numbers will always be somewhat capped by his interior line spot, McCoy looks poised to be as disruptive as ever in new defensive coordinator Mike Smith's aggressive scheme.
