Report: Rob Ryan was focus of robbery attempt in New Orleans last fall
Rob Ryan was the focus of a failed robbery attempt while serving as the defensive coordinator of the New Orleans Saints last fall, according to records obtained by Ramon Antonio Vargas of The New Orleans Advocate.
Ryan, now working as the Buffalo Bills' defensive coordinator, was viewed as an easy target by the two alleged attackers due to the lack of security around him.
The plan was foiled when an incriminating phone call was delivered to a federal worker by mistake, who turned the tape over to police.
"He ain't like Lil Wayne," the unnamed voice said on the phone call via Vargas. "He just a ... football coach. ... Defensive coordinator of the Saints. He don't have no bodyguards ... in front his house."
Jockquaren Van Norman and Larry Quinn await trial as a result.
