The Denver Broncos released running back Ronnie Hillman, according to Mike Klis of 9NEWS.

Hillman helped the Broncos win Super Bowl 50 last year. During the regular season, he rushed for 863 yards and seven touchdowns and started 10 games.

The 24-year-old spent his first four seasons with the Broncos after being selected in the third round of the 2012 draft.

C.J. Anderson is slated to be the Broncos' starting running back this season.
