Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater suffered a "significant" knee injury during practice, head coach Mike Zimmer announced in a press conference Tuesday.
Zimmer didn't provide details on the extent of the injury and said Bridgewater was undergoing an MRI, but admitted it could possibly be season-ending.
"It doesn't look good right now," said Zimmer when asked if Bridgewater would play in 2016.
According to the emergency scanner call for the ambulance, Bridgewater suffered a dislocated knee.
Zimmer confirmed it was a non-contact injury.
The head coach said Bridgewater was taken to hospital by ambulance and needed to be sedated.
If the third-year passer does indeed miss the season, it would be a huge blow to the Vikings' Super Bowl hopes. Shaun Hill and Joel Stave are the other quarterbacks on the roster.
