Jimmy Graham using basketball roots to rehab knee injury
While Seattle Seahawks tight end Jimmy Graham isn't quite ready to hit the football field after tearing his patellar tendon last November, he's ready to get back on the hard court.
Graham, who played basketball at Miami before switching to football, has been encouraged by the Seahawks to get back to his old sport in order to help test out his knee during rehab.
"The idea was to give him a chance to have to make moves that are not controlled," Carroll said, according to ESPN's Sheil Kapadia. "You have controlled workouts where you have bags and you're changing direction and all those kind of things. I thought if he would just feel that, it would show him that he's ready to go to the next level. We just had some fun doing it."
Graham didn't dress for his team's third preseason game on Thursday, despite looking "great in pregame," according to Carroll. However, it's still unknown if he'll be ready for the season opener.
