Rumors of Larry Fitzgerald's professional demise have been greatly exaggerated.
The veteran Arizona Cardinals receiver put together one of his best statistical seasons last year when he racked up a career-high 109 catches for 1,215 yards and nine touchdowns. He added to those stats with 12 receptions for 206 yards and a touchdown in the postseason.
On the heels of such a season and on the cusp of his 13th, Fitzgerald has put any retirement thoughts on the sideline.
"I'd be lying to you if I told you I didn't think about it," the 32-year-old said to Dan Hellie on "NFL Total Access" on Wednesday, according to Chris Wesseling of NFL.com. "Just trying to prepare for the next phase of your life.
"But I have a lot of good football left in me. How long I'll play, I don't know, but I feel great. I can still play at a high level, so I just take it one year at a time."
Fitzgerald currently sits 15th on the NFL's all-time receiving yards list and 11th in receiving touchdowns and career receptions.
