Bengals' William Jackson III: Pushing for starting job

Jackson is expected to compete with Dre Kirkpatrick for one of the Bengals' starting cornerback positions early on this season, NFL.com reports.

Analysis:

Jackson was selected in the first round of this year's draft and excelled playing on the outside during his time at Houston. With great length and speed, Jackson is an immediate threat to Kirkpatrick's job, as Pro-Bowler Adam Jones occupies Cincinnati's other starting role and Darqueze Dennard is best at an inside position. Furthermore, with defensive coordinator Paul Guenther declaring Jackson will play early on, it seems the rookie's IDP stock could rise as the regular season approaches.
