Jacksonville Jaguars left tackle Kelvin Beachum is expected to receive full medical clearance prior to the first day of training camp next month, reports Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union.
Beachum, who joined the Jaguars this offseason after four years in a Pittsburgh Steelers uniform, has missed all spring practices as he continues to work his way back from a torn ACL suffered last year.
Entering camp healthy will make Beachum the favorite to win a competition for the starting job at left tackle.
Presumably planning for such a scenario, the Jaguars have been giving Luke Joeckel snaps at guard during offseason workouts. Joeckel, a first-round pick in 2013, has been unable to establish himself as a top-tier player on the blindside through three seasons.
