49ers' Colin Kaepernick: Will miss minicamp

Kaepernick (shoulder/knee/thumb) is not yet medically cleared to participate in football activities and he'll miss this week's minicamp, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.

Analysis:

Kaepernick's next opportunity to return to the practice field won't come until training camp in late July, as he'll miss the 49ers' mandatory minicamp this Tuesday through Thursday. At this point Blaine Gabbert appears to have the advantage in the team's battle for starting quarterback due to Kaepernick's plethora of injuries.
