Texans' J.J. Watt: Remains sidelined

Watt (groin) remains sidelined at OTAs, the Houston Chronicle reports. "I feel really good," he said Tuesday. "As soon as I'm allowed, I'll be out there. You guys know me well enough now to know that it's not up to me. I think it will be soon."

Analysis:

The Texans are exercising caution as Watt proceeds through the latter stages of his recovery from offseason surgery to repair a number of torn core muscles. Tuesday marked just the fourth OTA session of the team's offseason program, which will be followed up by mandatory minicamp from June 14-16. There's always the potential that the star pass rusher doesn't take the field until training camp, but considering his comments, he should be his usual force of nature once Week 1 arrives.
