Lions stay local, grab Michigan QB Jake Rudock

The Detroit Lions have selected quarterback Jake Rudock out of Michigan in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

The 192nd overall pick will certainly be popular in the Lions state, as Rudock was a star for the Wolverines in his lone season at the school as a graduate student.

Considered a long shot for the NFL after his career at Iowa, the quarterback worked tirelessly with Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, and that has paid off with a professional contract.
