The Rams selected Goff in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, first overall.
Analysis:
Goff (6-foot-4, 215 pounds) doesn't have the size of the prototypical NFL quarterback, but his throwing talent was consistently impressive during his time as a three-year starter at California. Although he's not a prospect on the level of top 2015 picks Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota, Goff stands out in this draft class for his polish as a pocket passer, making him a candidate to see the field early or even immediately for the Rams. In 37 career starts at California, Goff completed 62.3 percent of his passes while throwing for 12,195 yards (7.8 YPA), 96 touchdowns and 30 interceptions. Since he landed on a team without great pass-catching talent and generally doesn't pose a rushing threat at the NFL level, Goff's fantasy ceiling might be a bit modest, promising as he is otherwise.
